The unique aspect of the project is that the storyline transcends both formats. Therefore, the story can only be consumed by experiencing both the film and the game.
Working with more for the glossy parts of the helmet we were able to scan the object without any issues in the processing phase.
Collaboration
For this project we worked closely with the VFX supervisor Claus Lunt. We were responsible to create the helmet, which will get replaced in the mars environment shots. The original helmet got send to us
Modeling & Texturing
We received the original helmet and were able to commence our in-house scanning process to obtain precise measurements and detailed cross-polarized images.
While scanning each individual part of the helmet (fabric, visor, etc.), we were able to transfer even the smallest details and scratches onto our CG helmet.
We payed close attention to the already shot footage to match the cg helmet perfectly to the orignial one.
